JOURNEY TO HOSPITALITY

It's a journey to meet others through one of the facets of their identity: their habitat.
From door to door and from the visible to the invisible, this research project reveals the universal power of hospitality.
While the ramifications of its definition question the dimension of a “spatial relationship to others”, hospitality always seems ambivalent: opening up one's space to the stranger while creating limits. As an architect, then, it's legitimate to ask:
What links exist between architecture and hospitality? How does hospitality influence spatial practices, and vice versa?
By questioning the spaces dedicated to welcoming others, this itinerant exploration into spontaneous hospitality opens the doors to a variety of contexts, architectures and spatial practices.
This research project has been running since 2023. The result is a book featuring a series of architectural and inhabitant portraits that explore the variety of spatial forms of hospitality.
